Nunungan scores "high" anew in anti-drug abuse performance

 

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--The local government unit (LGU) of Nunungan is again among the 17 LGU awardees in the province for the Anti-Drug Abuse Performance Award for the years 2019 and 2020, a testament to its outstanding efforts against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province.

The award is conferred by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to LGUs with exemplary efforts, through their ADACs, in complementing the national government’s measures to eradicate the country’s illegal drugs problem.

"Actually, kami sa Nunungan ang only municipality sa Lanao del Norte nga naka 100% before. Nasustain namo, hangtud karon 100% gihapon," said Nunungan mayor Marcos Mamay.

[Actually, we in Nunungan are the only municipality in Lanao del Norte that got 100% before. We have sustained it, to this day we still got 100.] 

According to him, all the 25 barangays of his municipality were already drug-cleared.

Mamay said he is overwhelmed that his municipality has been recognized as a top performer in fighting illegal drugs.

"Having this recognition entices those non-performers municipalities. Once makita man gud nila nga ing-ani, gena-awardan, gena-recognize maningkamot sad sila [they see that they can get awarded, recognized, they will also try hard]," he added.

Other municipalities in Lanao del Norte that also got a high rating for the were Bacolod, Baloi, Kapatagan, Salvador, Kolambogan, Poona Piagapo, Sapad, Baroy, Kauswagan, Linamon, Magsaysay, Nunungan, Matungao, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Tagoloan, Tangcal, and Pantao Ragat. (APB/PIA Lanao del Norte)
