ILIGAN CITY (PIA)-The Task Force Typhoon Odette of the Iligan Light & Power, Inc. (ILPI) made the company and the city proud following their power restoration service for the recovery of the calamity-stricken communities in the Visayas.
A team of seven members, the Task Force was sent off to Cebu City on December 23, 2021 to extend help in repairing damaged power lines. It was composed of one unit head, one foreman, and five lineworkers.
ILPI Distribution Network Operations Group Manager Engr. Danilo Bagtasos said ILPI and even the city are proud of the task force as it responded appropriately to communities needing its help, not just limiting its service to one place.
“Maproud sad mi kay ang among mga tao naa didto nagtabang. Imagine, coming from Iligan City going to Cebu ug nitabang. Dako kaayo na nga garbo sa ato dinhi, not only for Iligan Light but even sa Iligan City but as a whole,” he said.
[We are proud because our personnel were there to help. Imagine, coming from Iligan City going to Cebu to help. That is our big pride here, nor only for Iligan Light but even for Iligan City as a whole.]
Bagtasos said sending a team from ILPI was voluntary as it was part of their commitment to supporting the recovery of the places impacted by Typhoon Odette.
“Ang ato pud mga kaubanan diri sa Iligan Light, boluntaryo pud sila nga nikuyog sa team nga giorganize para mutabang sa restoration sa Cebu. In effect, sa among part sa management, [nakaingon] mi nga nindot pud ni nga attitude ug this is something nga nigawas karon nga naay crisis nga naay volunteerism,” said Bagtasos.
[Our colleagues here in Iligan Light volunteered to be part of the team organized to help in the restoration in Cebu. In effect, on the part of our management, [it made us say] this attitude is nice and this is something as volunteerism has been showcased now that there is a crisis.]
After more than a month of stay in Cebu City since the departure on December 23, 2021, the Task Force Typhoon Odette finally returned with a welcoming arrival Tuesday, February 8. (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Norte)
