KAPATAGAN, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--Remote barangays here are happy about the projects implemented in their community through the Additional Financing of the Kapit-Bisig Against Poverty - Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI CIDSS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development with funds from the provincial, municipal and barangay local governments.

The government held a groundbreaking ceremony for the concreting of an access road in Barangay Bagong Badian on Aug 2 that will benefit 600 residents as it will ease the transport of their agricultural products.

“Dako kaayo mi ug kalipay labi na sa katawhan kay dako kaayo ug katabanga sa among panginabuhian labi na sa pag eskwela sa among mga anak,” said Marilyn Fruta, barangay chairperson of Bagong Badian.

[We are happy about that project, especially to the people here because it is a great help for our livelihood, and for the education of our children.]

Meanwhile, nine solar street lights will also be installed in Barangay San Isidro benefitting 900 residents. 

“Dako silag papel diin among natagamtaman nga mga proyekto bisan pa sa una sa , maong hinungaan na ang mga barangay naenhance jud ug nahimong naempower ang katawhan pinaagi sa KALAHI CIDSS na project,” said Ana defamente, barangay chairperson of San Isidro.

[They play a big role in our life because we have received the projects since the implementation of KALAHI CIDSS. The KALAHI CIDSS project has enhanced our barangay and empowered the people.]

There are 22 barangays in Kapatagan town that will benefit from various projects funded through the KALAHI CIDSS program. (LELAntonio/ PIA-10-Lanao del Norte)
