BALO-I, Lanao del Norte -- The 55th Engineer (Mobilizer) Brigade of the Philippine Army opened Barrio Fiesta 2022 in line with the celebration of its 24th founding anniversary.
Six line units of the brigade showcased their craftsmanship and creativity through booth displays featuring the diverse culture of the Philippines.
For the Booth Contest, 554th Engineer Battalion won 1st place, followed by Headquarters and Headquarters Company and 551st Engineer Battalion.
"This Barrio Fiesta was conceptualized as pre-anniversary activity, to serve as a venue for festivity, celebration and gathering of our families and friends," said
Col. Raymundo Rosario, Chief of Staff of 55th Engineer Brigade.
Meanwhile, 55th Engineer Brigade’s Commander BGen Irineo Sebastian said that the Barrio Fiesta was conceptualized to showcase the cultural diversity in the brigade.
“Ang bottom line nito, all of us here in 55th Engineer Brigade comes from different parts of the country, we have different cultural orientation. We tried to integrate cultural diversity," he said.
Personnel and officers also joined the Laro ng Lahi Olympics such as the sack race and palosebo highlighting camaraderie. (LELA/ PIA Lanao del Norte)
