ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--The local government unit here recognized more than 30 business establishments for their contribution to the city's economy during the Business Awards on Nov. 15.

Mayor Frederick Siao said that the Business Awards Night provides a platform to recognize the business community.

“This is to encourage more members of the community to go into business. We need the business to innovate to create something new and have impact,” he said.

Meanwhile, Darwin Manubag, the city administrator and chairperson of Business Awards said that the goal of the business awards is “to celebrate the accomplishments and the contributions of Iliganon entrepreneurs, businessmen, our industries, in making our city, livelier, better.”

Some of the awards given include Best Hair Salon, Best Local Coffee Shop, Best Local Milk Tea House, Best Local Restaurant, and Inspiring Muslim Entrepreneur of the Year, Inspiring Indigenous People Entrepreneur of the Year. (LELA/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
