NUNUNGAN, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--Nights will be brighter for residents in the 11 barangays here after the electrification program will soon light up their communities.

The project is funded through the Barangay Line Enhancement Program (Electrification Project) of the National Electrification Administration with support from the local government unit (LGU) and provincial government.

Norhana Magongcar of Brgy. Paridi is very happy because it will no longer be difficult for them to attend their online class as they only use solar power.

“We’re very thankful to our mayor kasi nalagyan nya kami ng kuryente, malaking tulong yun sa amin na mga mag-aaral dito. Pag may online class kami, nahirapan kami mag charge,” she said.

[We're very thankful to our mayor because he provided us with electricity, that's a big help to us students here. When we have an online class, we have a hard time charging our gadgets.]

According to Mitaligod Gumanod, residents are also happy for the developments being implemented in their town. He also lauded the efforts of the mayor for settling rido (family feuds) that paved the way to address peace and order problems.

“Nailpay ang mga tao sa Nunungan kay naay development ug daghan projects.  Malipayon ang mga tao ug muabot ang kuryente kay mao ang pangandoy namo nga makasuga mi,” he said.

[The people of Nunungan are happy because there is a development and many projects. The people will be happy when there will be electricity because that is our dream.]

Meanwhile, Jerlyn Piscador of Brgy. Abaga is also elated that after so many years, their communities will soon be lighted. (LELA/ PIA Lanao del Norte)
