TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA) – The Regional Development Council (RDC)-10 has recognized its members that demonstrated unwavering commitment and embodied excellence in carrying out the council’s mandate and functions through the RDC Xcellence or Amihan Awards.
“This is to inspire others to walk not just the proverbial extra mile but truly the extra mile for the constituents, the people that we serve,” said RDC-10 Vice-Chairperson and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-10 Regional Director Mylah Faye Aurora Cariño.
Meanwhile, the newly-appointed chairperson of RDC-10, Lanao del Norte Governor Imelda “Angging” Dela Cruz Quibranza congratulated the awardees and hoped that they remain committed to working for the development of the region.
“Let us remain steadfast in steering the development to begin economic transformation for a resilient, inclusive, and prosperous society,” she said.
The awards given include Pagpupugay at Pasasalamat Award, Lodestar Award, RDC Service Award, Dekada Award, and Special Citations. Some of the recipients of such awards were the Environment Management Bureau, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and the Philippine Statistics Authority.
Outstanding RDC-10 member agencies were also recognized which are the Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Public Works and Highways, Land Transportation Office, and Department of Science and Technology. Awardees implemented innovations, breakthrough initiatives, or policy recommendations which resulted in improvements in systems, processes, and service delivery.
Moreover, winners of the #UswagNorMin Vlog Contest were awarded. The contest aims to capture moments in Northern Mindanao that illustrate economic transformation for a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient society. The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-10 won first prize followed by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology - Cagayan de Oro City Jail. Winners of the Photo Contest were Arnel Cabanao, Zoila Maxine Esic, and Bethle Ann Bacornay respectively. The photo of Robert Jay Jael also won the People’s choice award.
Awardees for the Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV) were also recognized. SOV aims to identify and recognize outstanding Filipino volunteers and volunteer organizations for their exemplary performance and achievements in empowering communities and promoting volunteerism as a way of life, contributing to nation-building. Awardees include the Local Government Unit of Gingoog City, Kauswagan Community Multi-purpose Cooperative, Ferdinand Castillan from Misamis Occidental, and Mark Ryan Fuego from Bukidnon.
