LGU Nunungan gives relief goods to flood-affected families in Tubod town

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--The Local Government of Nunungan gave 250 relief goods to families affected by the flood brought about by the trough of a low pressure area that hit the province, January 2.

Relief goods containing  rice, canned goods, noodles, and water were given through the Nunungan Cares initiative.

"This is part of our advocacy. This is our obligation as an elected official on how we  will be able to cater or support our fellow men, for having this situation wherein it is an inevitable circumstance," said Nunungan Mayor Marcos Mamay.

Meanwhile, Tubod Mayor Dionisio "Jimmy" Cabahug Jr. expressed gratitude to the LGU Nunungan for extending help.

"Mayor Mamay was the first mayor to come here and deliver goods that are needed. Dako kaayo siya'g tabang. Pasalamat kaayo ko niya (This is a big help. I really thank him) for helping our municipality," he said. 

Based on the report of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council-10, there are 6,881 families or 25,142 individuals affected by the flooding that are from the towns of Baroy, Kapatagan, Kolambugan, Lala, Magsaysay, Munai, Salvador, Tangcal, and Tubod.
