CAMP 3 only for retrenched workers under Alert Level 3: DOLE

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) clarified that the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) 3 is intended only for the private employees who are displaced due to the retrenchment of their companies or establishments as affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 disease pandemic and Alert Level 3 or higher level.

DOLE-Lanao del Norte Provincial Head Atty. Safrali Cabili stressed that employees currently with flexible work arrangements are not covered by the program and just those who are affected by the temporary or permanent closure of establishments in places under Alert Level 3 and above.

He stated that now that Alert Level 3 was raised here in the city and the province of Lanao del Norte starting January this year, qualified workers may seek cash aid as they may be entitled to one-time financial assistance.

“Sa CAMP 3, ang Department of Labor and Employment gahatag og one-time financial assistance sa atong affected workers tungod sa pagtaas sa atong alert level nga nisaka sa Alert Level 3. Ang workers na naapektuhan tungod sa pagclose, whether permanent or temporary, sa atong establishments, tagaan sila og Php5,000 one-time financial assistance,” he said in the Talakayan sa PIA Friday, February 4.

Cabili detailed that applications are first processed at the provincial level and forwarded thereon to the regional level for further evaluation and payment processing which will be released through money remittances, particularly M Lhuillier.

He said that so far, they are not yet advised to set a limit for the number of applications to be processed, and there are no target applicants yet to be catered except with the condition that the workplace is in an area that is under Alert Level 3 and is having a permanent or temporary closure.

Accordingly, qualified companies or employees may apply online through reports.dole.gov.ph and submit corresponding requirements such as the latest payroll for company applicants or the specified alternative documents for its absence, and a clear photo of self holding a valid government-issued identification card and duly notarized proof of employment for individual applicants.

Cabili said that due to the voluminous number of applications, it may take at least 15 days or two weeks for applicants to be notified whether they are approved or denied.

He enumerated that common reasons for denial of applications are wrong or lacking requirements, mismatched identity of applicants with submitted requirements, or unsigned submitted documents with exception to the bank transmittal.

As of press time, Lanao del Norte has 17 establishments with 193 workers applying for CAMP 3. Eight establishments with a total of 67 employees were approved, three are being evaluated and six were denied. (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Norte)
