Paclipan also said that those establishments that complied with such laws will get loyal customers as they will see they are being valued.
Meanwhile, Angelo Devero, senior trade and industry specialist of DTI-Lanao del Norte discussed how business establishments can apply for the Bagwis Program. He also said that LGU Iligan is the only city in the entire country to have adopted the BAGWIS Program through a local ordinance in 2017.
The DTI Bagwis is available in three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Each level is valid for three years from the date of conferral. To be eligible for a Bronze award, an establishment must be compliant with Fair Trade Laws and maintain a Consumer Welfare Desk (CWD) or an equivalent customer relations office. On the other hand, Silver Award requirements are identical to Bronze Award requirements, with the addition of Social Responsibility. Finally, the Gold level recognizes both the requirements of the previous two levels as well as elements aligned with ISO 9001.
