TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--Residents in the province will no longer have difficulty in traversing to other places as roads have been constructed through the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) project of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Patricia Abellanosa of Baroy town is happy that the roads are now concrete. She recalled that when she was young the road used to be muddy.

“Sukad pa sa akong pagkatao dinhi na ko daan. Nagpasalamat mi na naingun-ani among barangay, naa na kalsada. Kay sa unang panahon eskwela migBaroy, lalom kaayo ang lapok diri among agian,” she said.

She said they hope the projects will continue because while they are still alive, they are happy that government programs have reached their barangay.

Meanwhile, Maribel Teves said that the road is beneficial to them since it provides easy access to deliver their products in other places.

“Pasalamat ko sa atong Governor na iyang naprovide ang kanindot diri. Ako pod isip negosyante sayon na sa amoa ang pageliver sa produkto sa Iligan,” she said. 

[I thank our Governor for providing the beauty here. As a trader, it is easy for us to deliver products in Iligan.]

The road project was implemented by the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte (PGLDN).

A total of nine concrete roads in the province were handed over. These are located in the towns of Tubod, Baroy, Lala, Kauswagan, Kolambugan,Tangcal, among others.

The said project was also implemented with the help of funds from the Department of Public Works and Highways and PGLDN. (LELA/ PIA Lanao del Norte)
