TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--In preparation for the National and Local Elections (NLE) on May 9, 2022, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) convened here the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO 10), Philippine Army and other deputized agencies for the final command conference of the Regional Joint Security Control Center.
PRO 10, 1st, 4th and 10th Infantry Divisions of the Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Education, Philippine Coast Guard, Department of Health, and the Philippine Information Agency presented updates on their commitments and concerns for upcoming elections.
Comelec 10's regional election director Atty. Francisco Pobe reminded the deputized agencies to coordinate with one another for safe and fair elections. He also underscored the importance of preserving this democratic process of the government.
“We need to do this not just to preserve the lives [of the people] but also to preserve the democratic processes of this government,” he said.
1st Infantry Division Commander MGen. Generoso Ponio said that they are apolitical. He affirmed their commitment and assurance that the Armed Forces of the Philippines will do their duties and will focus to attain safe, accurate and credible elections.
PRO 10's regional director PBGen Benjamin Acorda Jr. reiterated their commitment to attaining safe and fair elections. He also hoped for a good outcome after the elections. (LELA/PIA Lanao del Norte)
