ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--While some parents hesitate to get their kids vaccinated, Emma Pilar Imperio, Medical Officer III of the Department of Health Center for Health Development - Northern Mindanao (DOH-CHDM), said that vaccines are safe and effective.
“Ang vaccine kay safe, free and effective. Let’s grab the opportunity kay free ni safe and effective. Safe ra jud kaayo siya para sa atong anak. Pag-bakunado, protektado jud ta, “ she said.
[The vaccine is safe, free, and effective. Let’s grab the opportunity while it is free, it is safe and effective. It is very safe for our children. When we are vaccinated, we are protected.]
Imperio called on the parents of children from the 5 to 11 age group to have them vaccinated.
Parents may bring their kids to Adventist Medical Center (AMC) which is open every Wednesday while the vaccination site in Robinsons Place Iligan is open every Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm.
The doctor also shared that a total of 57,480 kids from the age group are targeted to be vaccinated in the City as projected by Philippine Statistics Authority.
During the kick-off of “Resbakuna Kids” campaign in Robinsons Iligan, Marie Bahayan a mother to a five-year-old kid who recently got vaccinated encouraged other parents to have their kids vaccinated to protect them as they start to go to their desired places two years after being confined at their homes.
