DTI-LDN ramps up consumer welfare campaign thru HOPE Webinar

 

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Lanao del Norte here is stepping up its campaign of fostering the welfare of the consumers with its initiative of spearheading a series of virtual seminars.

Dubbed as Heading Online options for Protecting Consumers and Enabling Businesses (HOPE) Webinar Series, the department continues to convene the public of the city and the province of Lanao del Norte with guests from appropriate government line agencies to talk about particular topics relevant to consumer welfare.

Maria Lourdes Tiongco, the OIC Division Chief of the DTI-Lanao del Norte Consumer Protection Division, stressed that they are living out their mandate of protecting the interest of the consumers through information dissemination which they do by seminars, briefings, and the likes. 

She further said now that the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 persists and has not yet ceased, they still strive to not halt their mission with the utilization of online means.

“Although we have this COVID-19 threat, this will not stop us from doing our part since we have these platforms online to reach out and mapaabot sa inyo ang [deliver to you the] information that we need to know as consumers,” said Tiongco.

For this year, the DTI-Lanao del Norte kicked off its first episode of HOPE Webinar Series tackling the benefits and privileges of senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs). (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Norte)
