ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--For the fourth quarter of classes, the Department of Education - Iligan City Division is committed to ensuring the safety of the students during the limited face-to-face (F2F) classes.

Reyno Alemania, DepEd Iligan’s Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Service Officer, said the guidelines imposed by the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases are strictly followed.

“Salig gyud mo nga committed gyud ang atoang Superintendent, si SDS Roy Angelo Gazo na safe ang atong mga bata kung mubalik na sila dinhi sa eskwelahan. Tungod kay ang protocol sa IATF, grabe jud siya ka strikto nga ato gyud gisunod,” he said.

[We assure you that our Superintendent, SDS Roy Angelo Gazo is committed to keeping our children safe when they return to school. Because the IATF protocols are strictly followed.]

Alemania shared the salient requirements in order for a school to undergo F2F classes. He said that the teachers must be fully vaccinated or had booster shots. For the students, they should be at least vaccinated with one dose provided that they will get shots months after.

The school vicinity should also have handwashing facilities, markers or signages, temperature checker, and hand sanitizers.

DepEd Iligan recently monitored and evaluated the preparations of Estenzo-Comendador Memorial School in Barangay Upper Tominobo and Suarez National High School for the F2F classes. (LELA/ PIA Lanao del Norte)
