ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--Living up to the Duterte administration’s slogan, “Tapang at Malasakit” [Courage and Concern], the Iligan City Police Station (ICPS) 1 in partnership with other stakeholders spearheaded March 9 the “Duterte Legacy: BARANGAYanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery” in Barangay Pugaan here.
ICPS 1 officer-in-charge PCapt. Neil Mark C. Quipanes said the caravan aims to deliver the government’s basic services closer to the populace.
“Ang mga lain-lain nga stakeholders nato sa atoang community, inubanan sa atong PNP, nag-gather og nagbuhat ani nga activity aron ipaabot ang mga serbisyo sa atong katawhan,” he said.
[Different stakeholders from the community, including the PNP, gathered and conducted this activity to render services to the people.]
A total of 50 children benefitted from the said caravan. ICPS 1 provided free haircut services and free circumcision. The City Health Office conducted deworming for children and gave medicines for circumcision. The Rotary Club of Uptown Iligan also gave snacks.
Food packs consisting of noodles, three kilos of rice, and canned goods were also provided by the ICPS 1, City Station 1 Advisory Council, 18th Avenue Pharmacy, and Lourdex Trading.
Other partners that provided support during the caravan are Adventist Medical Center, Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association, Tapok Iligan and Noy's Lechon Belly.
In return, residents of Barangay Pugaan extended their gratitude to the ICPS 1, its stakeholders, and the LGU for reaching out to their area.
